A Weekend Post: Weekly Round Up #7

Another round up of all the products I have been loving over the last 7 days.

1. With the Revlon Colourburst Matte and Laquer balms being all over the beauty blogging world, boy was I relieved when they finally made their debut in boots. I picked up three colours to try out but I think another trip is definitely on the cards come pay day. The three I picked up were Elusive (matte), Demure (laquer) and Striking (matte). I have just been loving these and definitely see why they have been so hyped up.

2. Next up is the Real Techniques Core Collection. I have been using the Sigma Kabuki brushes and have really loved those but the main reason I purchased this is because of the buffing brush and contour brush. I have noticed a huge difference in the application and finish of my foundation. I find the Yves Saint Laurent Youth Liberator Foundation looks stunning when using the buffing brush. Definitely worth getting this set just for the buffing brush but am definitely planning on trying some of the other brushes available from them including the multi task brush, blush brush and the eye collection.

3. I have been using the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel every morning for the last 3 weeks and I have been absolutely amazed at what this has done to my skin. Although it is marketed as a gel cleanser, it is definitely more of a balm texture and when working it in to the skin it turns to more of an oil and really does a good job of refreshing the skin and has a very luxurious scent. I have also used this in the evening and it does an amazing job of melting makeup away and leaves skin feeling clean and nourished, no tight or stripped skin in sight at all. It has quite a hefty price tag but it is definitely worth it and although I use it mainly in the morning, it is definitely a versatile cleanser and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

4. NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in Porcelain has been pretty much the only concealer I have been using for blemishes, scars and redness, as the coverage on this is incredible. After using Dermablend, MAC Studio Finish and Collection Lasting Perfection concealer for the last few months I found they weren't giving enough coverage to the nasty breakouts I have been battling. But this NYX concealer has been amazing, I used to use it quite a lot but it's been pushed to the back of my makeup stash as new offerings have been added. The shade of this I perfect for my skin tone, it's easy to blend, lasts all day and is very affordable, the only issue I have is that it's not easily accessible in the UK. It can be found online but that's not helpful when you need to see what the shades look like against your skin. I found this can dry out my under eye area if I don't apply a decent amount of eye cream or by the end of the day it has creased and made the area look incredibly dry but other than that it is a perfect concealer for me. I am tempted to get the green concealer to help even more with the redness I have got but for now, this is doing just the job. Nice one NYX.

5. A product I have used as a highlighter for months I have now discovered a new way of using it and have worn it this way for the last 7 days. The Seventeen Skin WOW 3 Way Highlighter, although marketed as a highlighter, it (as the name suggest) can be used in other ways. I actually got this tip from Kate a.k.a. Ghost Parties, she used the Revlon Photo Ready Skin Lights in Bare Light as a primer, concentrating mainly on her under eye and cheekbones area and when I tried it with the Pink Skin Lights that I already had in my stash it just didn't look right, but the Seventeen offering is more neutral and natural tones and I must say I have really noticed a difference with how my skin looks using this product this way. I like the natural and healthy glow it gives the skin and I never thought to use this just in the areas that the light naturally hits rather than all over the face. Thanks Kate.

6. Next is the Superdry Jumper that I purchased from Center Parcs last Sunday and I have been loving that it can be paired with so many things. It's an XS size and is really baggy on me still. I love that it can be worn as an off the shoulder jumper and very casual jumper, but I have worn it around the house with just leggings to keep me warm and I am on the hunt for some others of the same style. I got this for £27.99, but I'm not able to find it on the Superdry website but there are lots of similar things on there which I also have my eye on.

7. My next favourite this week has been Lovefilm and Netflix. I don't know how many films I have watched on my new iPad from these two sites but I am working my way through them at a rather alarming rate. Both have a 30 day free trial and their subscriptions start at £5.99. I have found LoveFilm has a lot more choice and is most likely to find the film you want where as Netflix doesn't have as many options.

8. Last but not least is th L'Oreal Mythic Oil. I have used this on my hair everyday for the last 3/4 weeks and I cannot believe the results I have seen. It doesn't weigh my hair down at all, and it also helps smooth, shine, de-frizz and nourish the hair in 1-2 pumps everyday. It hasn't made my hair look greasy or packed full of product. It is a very light weight, incredible hair oil which I vow to always keep in my hair care stash. I love this stuff and I highly recommend it.
