The Christmas Party: Makeup Edition

Next up is the makeup must haves when you are getting ready for your Christmas do, whether it's with work, family, or friends.
So first up I am going to start with the complexion. When you want your makeup to last all night and stay where it should, then it is imperative that you use a primer. My favourite at the moment is the Revlon Photo Ready Primer, I hate the smell, but the smooth, perfect texture and look it gives my skin, this stuff is a god send with these colder and drier months. My favourite foundation at the minute has got to be my Georgio Armani luminous Silk Foundation in Shade 3. This photographs beautifully so you don't have to worry about looking like you are haunting the place, not partying hard this festive season. Radiance is a big thing for me at the moment, anything that can give me a natural, but beautiful glow is a winner in my book, Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat, and The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer Highlighting Powder, are just stunning, Both of these really brighten and highlight the face that I can't imagine not using either of these anymore. I love The Balm's highlighter, the colour it has to give you that healthy, dewy glow is just incredible. I then add a little bit of pink blush to the cheeks to give the face a beautiful and healthy flush of colour, my favourite at the minute is MAC Satin Powder Blush in Well Dressed.

I have 2 eye makeup looks for the party season, and it depends on which lip look your are going for.
1. Eyes are very important to completing the look, and if you are going to be wearing a bright lip, then you need to keep the eye makeup to a minimum. So my eye look of choice is a little winged eyeliner to give those lashes some extra omfph, and with your eyelash curler of choice, make those eyes look beautiful and bright.
2. If you choose to go for the more neutral lip then a smokey eye is your best friend in complimenting that. A neutral lip, means that you can smoke out the eyes as much as you like. Deoending on your outift and accessories, you can go for any colour you like with the smokey eye, just make sure that you blend it all together to make sure there are no harsh lines.

I have 2 options for the perfect lip look.
1. Lips next and my favourite lip look for the festive season is a bright, bold red lip. I just love it. My favourite red lip laquer is the Rimmel Apocalips Lip laquer in Big Bang, if that's too much then my favourite red lipstick is from Maybelline in Pleasure Me Red.
2. Another option is a very neutral lip, this is something that would compliment a smokey or dramatic eye look. The Soap & Glory Super - Colour - Fabu - Lipstick in The Missing Pink is just perfect. Or for more of a stain, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey is amazing and by far my favourite from the balm stain line, I love it.

There is the makeup edition in my Christmas Party series. I hope you like this post, and keep an eye out for the final two posts, which will show you some of my top picks for the perfect outfit and accessories this festive party season.
