A Beauty Chat - What's On My Face #3

So a trip shopping was the perfect time for me to test out just how the Georgio Armani foundation performs.
At the beginning of the week I put in an order for the Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in shade 3, as I heard so many good things about it I wanted to see if it lives up to the hype. Although it is quite pricey there are some deals going on for Christmas etc so you can get your hands on it for a much more purse friendly price.

I thought I would take this opportunity for another What's On My Face, and for a "first impressions" type post.

Products Used: Revlon Photo Ready Primer // Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation // Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat // MAC Studio Finish Concealer // Bourjois Java Rice Powder // Bourjois Bronzing Powder // MAC Satin Powder Blush in Well Dressed // MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study // Urban Decay Naked Palette // Rimmel Scandleyes Eyeliner in Taupe, Nude & Black // Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof Mascara // Soap & Glory Super - Colour - Fabu - Lip Stick in Missing Pink //

I started off with applying Revlon Photo Ready Primer, mainly around my nose, chin and under eye area as these are the areas with the most issues whether it is breakouts, dry patches or large pores. Once that has settled in to the skin, I then take a buffing brush and started applying the foundation in circular motions. I actually guessed my shade, I looked at the shades I saw people were using (on blogs and youtube) and the other foundations that matched there skin perfectly - like the Bourjois Happy Light Foundation and compared it to what I know the shades are like on my skin tone, whether they match, too light or too dark etc. Turns out the shade 3 was the perfect shade, I couldn't believe it, but I am so pleased it matches so well.

I then applied my Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat under my eyes and then the MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC15 on any blemishes. Whilst applying I realised that I wasn't having to use as much concealer, the foundation had covered up a lot of the redness so I had very high hopes for this.
I then applied Seventeen Skin WOW 3 Way Highlighter on the cheekbones and lightly dusted over some of the Boujois Java Rice Powder. I then applied Bourjois Bronzing Powder and a small amount of MAC Satin Powder Blush in Weel Dressed to the apples of my cheeks.

Moving on to eyes, as usual I applied my MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study. I then applied Sin from Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette all over the lid and Sidecar into the crease. I then used the Rimmel Scandleyes in Taupe on the lower lash line, and Rimmel Scandleyes in Black on the upper lashline. I use a dense fluffy brush to smudge the eyeliner. It's the perfect way to create a simple smokey eye, without using so many products. Virgin in the inner corner.

I have recently purchased some eyelash curlers from Japonesque so I used these to curl my eyelashes and a couple of coats of Maybelline Waterproof Mascara and thats eyes done. The eyelash curlers or so different from the standard ones and it took me a while to use them properly but once you get the hang of it they hold your curl all day.

This particular day I went for the Soap & Glory Super - Colour - Fabu - Lip - Stick in The Missing Pink on the lips as I have been loving the "your lips but better" kind of lip colour.

When I got home from shopping a few hours later I checked my foundation to see how it had lasted and it hadn't budged. It hadn't faded or oxidised or anything. The foundation looked exactly the same as when I had put it on at 9:00 am that morning. I will be testing it out a few more times, but this is just my first impression of using the product and so far it is definitely worth the price tag, and it may even take the place of my favourite foundation from Revlon. Maybe.

What's your favourite high end foundation?
