A Weekend Special - What's On My Face #2

18:54

With the beautiful sunshine out but the air going cooler, I thought I would do another What's On My Face post. So Let's Get Cracking.

On a fully cleansed and moisturised face I start with the MONU Illuminating Primer, a brilliant base for my foundation of choice, which today was the Bourjois Happy Light Foundation in 50 Porcelain. A light weight, not too dewy not too matte finish, although it's not the perfect colour I can still make it work and I have been loving this recently. Next up is concealer and I have recently been trying out the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat in shade 1 Highlight. This has a peachy pink under tone which works well on any discolourations or dark circles around the eyes, it doesn't crease or move around and as long as it is blended properly it looks flawless, and if I apply a concealer on top then it looks beautiful. That day I decided to use the Garnier Pure Active 2 in 1 Tinted Roll on for Fair Skin Tones, (I have actually only just realised this is to help conceal and cover spots which I did not know, I was supposed to pick up the anti dark circle caffeine roll on thingy so will have to go back for that.) I wore this makeup all day and I don't know whether it was the primer, the Touche Eclat or the Garnier roll on but this did not budge, crease or look patchy or anything all day, and when I took it off at 7pm that night it was all where I had left it. Incredible.
After the eye area is concealed and covered I then went on to any blemishes or imperfections on my face. There's a lot, I know. For this I use a combination of the MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC15, and the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. Using this combo is just the perfect thing to cover most of the blemishes, scars, freckles, any thing I don't particularly want to be seen.

On to eyes next, will come back to the finishing touches on the face soon. I started with the MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study all over the lid, then from the Naked 1 palette, in the crease Sidecar, on the inner half of the lid Sin and on the outer corner and in the crease Hustle. With a touch of sidecar and hustle on the lower lash line as well. This is just a very, simple, neutral eye look that I have been wearing a lot since I received my Naked 1 palette through the post and I love it. I then apply some Bourjois brown eyeliner on the upper lash line and smudge it out, and a Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in nude on the bottom water line to make the eyes appear more bright and open. Finally I curl the eyelashes and apply a couple of layers Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof mascara to the upper and lower lashes.

Back to the cheeks, and a quick swipe under the eye of my foundation to brush to get rid of any eyeshadow fall out and its then time for blusher. This particular day I chose the MAC Sheertone Blush in Well Rested. A beautiful, natural blush which adds a healthy flush to the cheeks. A tiny amount of The Balm Mary Lou-manizer on the cheek bones and that's it, makeup done.

Almost forgot, a quick swipe of L'Oreal's Rouge Caresse lipstick in Tempting Lilac across the lips and now it's makeup done.

(Please excuse the very tired looking eyes.)

What is your go to makeup look?
