A Weekend Special - Drugstore Recommendations #1

14:41

I thought I would share some of the best affordable beauty products that I have tried. This first one is on my top 5 highstreet/drugstore foundations.

The drugstore has a lot of affordable options for makeup and one of my most loved products is foundation, I have tried a few so I thought I would give you my top 5 favourites.

5. At number 5 is a Rimmel best seller, Wake me up foundation in Ivory. This is known for the natural radiance that it gives the skin and a low to medium coverage. This colour is not the perfect match for me so I do have to work it in a bit longer to get it to work but once blended in with a buffing brush this is a beautiful foundation. I have recently bought it again to see if it is as good as I remember and it definitely is.

4. In joint fourth is actually the Bourjois foundations in general, but in particular the reasonably newly released Bourjois Happy light foundation and the Healthy Mix Serum, unfortunately the colour range from Bourjois doesn't go in my favour and I have the lightest option but it just doesn't quite match my skin tone. But the foundations themselves are very good. The Happy Light claims to give a luminous and flawless complexion in any light. A very good option if you can find a colour to match, and with it's not quite matte not quite dewy finish this is definitely worth giving it a go. Healthy Mix Serum is a gel formula that rids signs of fatigue and evens out the complexion with a semi matte finish, this is another great option from Bourjois. £

3. At number 3 is a Revlon favourite. The Colourstay Foundation in Buff. With two skin type options - normal/dry or combination/oily - this foundation is a high coverage, long lasting formula which is just outstanding with it's two skin type options, Revlon have really thought about what is on the inside, unfortunately they haven't been too practical with how to get it out, a pump would be really handy but it is still an amazing product and I use this when I need my makeup to last all day then this is the one I go for. £12.49

2. At a close 2nd place this is a product my best friend Dani persuaded me to get as she thinks it's the best foundation ever, the Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 foundation. After the first use I am hooked, the coverage is brilliant, the lasting power is incredible and I love the texture, packaging, price, quality - Everything. It doesn't quite take the place of my all time favourite but it is a very close second place. I love this foundation. £11.99

1. First place is another offering from Revlon, the Nearly Naked foundation in Ivory. This is the perfect colour match for me and the coverage is not too heavy and not too light. It is just amazing. Whether using a flat top kabuki like the Sigma F80 or a buffing brush this gives a seamless effect and lasts all day. This is the one I would chose every day if I didn't have others to try and use up.

I hope this was useful, and if you haven't yet found your perfect foundation there are plenty of affordable options available and I really hoped this has helped.

What is your favourite highstreet foundation?
