Morning Skincare Routine
18:40So my current morning routine consists of a few products and I prefer to keep things fairly simple (I would rather have an extra 5 minutes in bed than 5 minutes spent doing my skincare routine – priorities right?)
1. I start off with the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift
& Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm, everyone knows what it is so I'm not going to ramble on about it. This
cleanser is my favourite EVER. This just makes my skin so soft and smooth and
it really does help to refresh my skin and wake me up at the same time – I’m not much of a morning person. This is by far the best cleanser I have ever tried and I highly, highly recommend it. This changed my skin for the better and I love it. Okay Emma Hardie rave done. What's next?
2. Next I use my Michael Todd Blue Green Algae Antibacterial
toner, this gets rid of any nastiness on my face that I may have missed
with my cleanser, and if I have any breakouts then this really helps to keep
the areas clean so they can heal quicker.
3. Up next is Estée Lauder’s Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator, you do
have to work fast with this as it sinks in so quickly but I am amazed at what
this has done for my skin, with its subtle gold shimmer this brightens,
smoothes, softens and illuminates the face which gives a freshness to the skin.
It does also help with any large pores or uneven skin and once I have finished
the sample I have got of this I will definitely go out and purchase the full
size. I use this most mornings but sometimes if my skin looks extra good then I will just use the L’Oreal Skin Perfection Serum
instead. I will admit this doesn’t make a visible difference straight away but
over time it does become a bit more noticeable, it made my skin look healthy, not
radiant but healthy, and I love that, especially if I’m not putting any makeup
on that day. I rotate between the two serums depending on the day and my skin.
4. Like my evening routine, I then
put on the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K
or Effaclar Duo (depending on my skin), the duo is a brilliant spot
treatment but I do apply it all over my face to prevent any spots that are lurking around and the K works well to prevent
any further breakouts in that area.
5. I then move onto eye cream, and
I have just started testing the Super
Facialist by Una Brennan Neroli firming illuminate eye cream. This
smoothes and hydrates my under eye area as it does have Hyaluronic acid in it, this sits under makeup so well
and that area just looks amazing now. I only bought this at the weekend and I
saw a huge difference even after a couple of days. I love this stuff. I was
using the Simple Soothing Eye Balm
but it didn’t do anything for me and to me it was pretty pointless so whilst in
Boots I picked this up.
6. Some days I will then apply
Hydraluron, depending on how my skin looks but again this is a new product that I am trying out and I have seen
huge improvements immediately. With a whack load of Hyaluronic acid in it this serum helps to
lock in moisture and allows your day time moisturiser to sink in and really
hydrate your skin and really boost its performance. When I first purchased this
I used it that night and when I woke up in the morning my skin looked alive, it
looked refreshed and healthy and radiant and my goodness was it soft and
smooth. I didn’t think it would make that much of an improvement in such a
short amount of time. I think this is going to be a permanent step in both my morning and nighttime routine (read evening routine here). A separate review on both of the new
additions to my routine will be up soon.
7. Next I follow with my day time
moisturiser and for that I have found one that is perfect for my skin and that
is the Nivea Daily essentials light
day cream with SPF 15, I then apply the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Sunblock SPF 30 I look forward
to applying my last two products as they sink in to the skin so fast and they
make a brilliant base for makeup. Neither is greasy or sticky and the SPF
doesn’t leave a white tinge on my face like some sunscreen can. They protect my
skin really well and keep it moisturised and soft and the moisturiser has the
proper Nivea smell that I totally love.
That is all for my current
morning skincare routine. I love all the products I am using at
the minute and my face has shown an amazing improvement since I stopped using
too many harsh products or the wrong products all together. Next will be a
Skincare extras post and that should be up by the weekend.
