A Review - Alpha H Liquid Gold
20:49
I love this stuff. Alpha H Liquid Gold - a glycolic acid
treatment applied every three nights, instead of my night time moisturiser and since using this, my skin has
changed completely.
This product is truly a "holy
grail" product for me and I will forever keep this in my routine. I am yet to try any of their other products but I do want
to try the serum, cleanser and moisturiser, so I have quite a large Christmas
wish list this year.
Okay, so the words glycolic acid
scared the living daylights out of me and the first night I was going to use it,
I almost chickened out. - Pathetic I know, I'm such a wuss sometimes. - But I pushed through and woke up the next morning and
ran straight to the mirror. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I truly saw an immediate difference. Just from one use, my skin was soft and
smooth, my breakouts had been dramatically reduced and my skin looked almost radiant.
I had been using other products before the
liquid gold - cleansers, toners, face masks, moisturisers, spot treatments -
and some of them worked and some of them didn’t. So I shoved those out the way
to make room on my shelf for this.
I bought the product because I had read a lot
of reviews - which I always do before a big purchase, or I try and get a sample
first. I’ve spent far too much money on products that I hate and don’t get on with, that just don’t do anything for my skin. I am determined to get rid of the
numerous amounts of breakouts that I have been suffering with - probably because
of my poor treatment towards my skin and rubbish diet. But I always wondered
why my makeup didn't stay on or why my skin was so terrible. I now know.
Back to the "instead of my night
time moisturiser." It's totally advised when using this
treatment, to not put moisturiser on.
Glycolic acid is an Alpha Hydroxy
Acid (AHA) which are used to reduce wrinkles (I can’t comment on that as I’m
only 21 and don’t have wrinkles yet - phheeww) and it also helps improve the
overall look and feel of the skin. But I’ll talk about that another time.
So, how to use it: every third night,
I apply some of the liquid onto a cotton pad and sweep it over my face, once
I’ve cleansed and toned, that's it. No moisturiser or serum or oil or anything. It doesn't
cause my face to sting, tingle or feel tight, some users have said it tingles/stings a little bit, but I suggest that if
it does start to sting a lot then wash it off and discontinue use. This product shouldn't burn your face.
One very important thing if you are
interested in trying this product, it is essential you use a high SPF the
following day when you have used the liquid gold, because of what the product
does (taking the dead layer of skin off and revealing fresh brand new skin)
that skin is very sensitive, so it is important you protect that skin and use an SPF,
unless you live in a hole and do not see daylight.
